A new iPhone is worth the most on the day you stop needing it
An iPhone loses more value in its first eighteen months than across the whole rest of its life, and the steepest part of that slope is the first few months. If you have already decided the 18 Pro is not staying, whether that is a duplicate pre-order, a colour you did not want, or a work phone handed to you on top of your own, the strongest number you will ever see for it is the one available now.
Demand in the UAE runs hot around a launch. Supply of the new Pro Max is thin for the first few weeks, buyers who missed the pre-order window are still looking, and a sealed unit moves immediately. That is why an unopened box sits at the top of our band, and why we will quote one over WhatsApp without needing to see it first.
Condition does less of the work on a phone this new than it does further down the line. On a launch-window iPhone 18 almost everything turns on the model and the storage tier. That is the opposite of how a three-year-old handset prices.

iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are not one price
Apple shipped two phones in September, not a full line. Both run the A20 Pro on a 2nm process, both moved the Face ID hardware under the display for a smaller Dynamic Island, and both carry a variable aperture main camera with a 24-megapixel front camera. What separates them commercially is size, battery and the ceiling.
The Pro Max is the stronger of the two on the used market, as it is every year. It starts at AED 5,499 against AED 5,099 for the Pro, Apple quotes up to 45 hours of video playback on it, and it is the model buyers ask for by name. We price it above the Pro at every matching storage tier.
Storage moves the number more than people expect. The line runs 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB with no 128GB entry at all, and the retail gap between the bottom and the top tier is close to double. Tell us the exact capacity when you message. A 1TB Pro Max and a 256GB Pro are not the same conversation.

The iPhone Duo, and the models still to come
Apple's first foldable, the iPhone Duo, is a separate product on a separate schedule: pre-orders from 16 October 2026, on sale from the 23rd, AED 8,499 at 256GB. It opens from a 5.4-inch outer screen into a 7.6-inch inner one. We buy it, but we quote it one unit at a time rather than off a list. A hinge and a folding display are a different resale risk from a slab phone, and the UAE second-hand market for it will take months to settle.
There is no standard iPhone 18 yet. Apple split the line this year and held the base 18, the 18e and the iPhone Air 2 back to spring 2027. If you are offered an “iPhone 18” that is neither a Pro nor a Pro Max, it is worth a second look at what is actually in the box.

Before you come in: eSIM, Find My and the box
Move your data across with Quick Start first if the replacement phone is already in your hand. It leaves the old handset ready to pass over rather than half migrated.
The eSIM is the step people forget. Transfer the line through your operator's app or delete the profile in Settings before you travel. Leave it in place and we will do it with you at the counter, but it adds time to the visit.
Sign out of iCloud and switch off Find My iPhone. A handset still signed into an Apple Account cannot be bought by anyone, us included, and that is checked in front of you before any money moves. Bring the phone, the cable, your Emirates ID and the box if you still have it. On a phone this new the complete kit genuinely moves the final number.
