The USB-C iPhone that buyers still ask for
The 15 is the generation where Apple dropped Lightning. Nearly three years later that is still the practical reason a used buyer in Dubai picks a 15 over a 14 — one cable for the phone, the iPad and the laptop. It is the clearest break point in the recent iPhone line, and it shows in the resale gap between the two generations.
The base 15 also picked up the 48-megapixel main camera and the Dynamic Island, both previously Pro-only. On the Pro side, Apple swapped stainless steel for titanium and replaced the mute switch with the Action button.

Battery health and repair history set the price
At this age, battery health is the first thing we look at and often the thing that decides the offer. Plenty of 15s now sit under 90% maximum capacity, and some below 80% with a service message showing. A phone that needs a battery before it can be resold is worth less, and we show you the reading rather than argue about it.
Repair history is the second. Settings, General, About, Parts and Service History tells us who fitted the screen and the battery. Work done by Apple or an Apple Authorised Service Provider reads as genuine and costs you nothing. Work done anywhere else reads differently, and on a 15 it usually takes True Tone with it.

15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are priced apart
The 15 and 15 Plus run the A16 with a two-camera system and the slower USB 2 transfer speeds over that new port. The 15 Pro moved to the A17 Pro, a titanium frame and USB 3 speeds, which is why it holds a clear premium over the standard model rather than a token one.
The 15 Pro Max is the only phone in this generation with the 5x tetraprism telephoto, and it started at 256GB rather than 128GB. Both push it well ahead of the 15 Pro, and the 1TB version sits at the top of what we pay across this line.

What actually erodes an iPhone 15 price from here
Two things, and neither is dramatic. The first is capacity loss in the battery, which continues whether the phone is in daily use or sitting in a drawer. Charge cycles are only part of it; calendar age does the rest.
The second is Apple's software list. The 15 is comfortably on it, and that is the main reason demand for it is still broad rather than niche. When a model eventually stops receiving new iOS releases, its resale value takes a step down it does not recover from — but the 15 is nowhere near that point today.
So the useful question is not which month to sell in, but whether the battery reading and the glass are still where you want them.
