What decides your iPhone 14 offer
The iPhone 14 range splits sharply in resale. The 14 Pro Max sits at the top, then the 14 Pro. The standard 14 and the 14 Plus sit well below both, because they shipped with the previous-generation A15 chip and the notch instead of the Dynamic Island.
Storage is the next lever. A 128GB unit and a 512GB unit of the same model are nowhere near each other, and the 1TB Pro Max is the ceiling for this generation.
Colour barely matters, with one exception. The Pro frame is stainless steel, and Space Black shows edge wear badly. A scuffed black Pro grades lower than the same phone in silver.
US eSIM-only units versus Gulf dual-SIM
This is the generation where Apple split the hardware by market. American iPhone 14s shipped with no SIM tray at all and run eSIM only. Units sold across the Gulf kept a physical dual-SIM tray.
Plenty of US stock has reached this market since launch, so we see both and we buy both. They are not worth the same here: buyers in the Emirates want a tray for a second local line or a travel SIM, so eSIM-only units sit longer and are quoted lower.
Tell us which one you have in your first message. A quote given on the assumption of a dual-SIM unit will not survive an eSIM-only phone arriving at the counter.
Battery health and the 14's redesigned back
Open Settings, then Battery, then Battery Health and Charging. An iPhone 14 that has been charged daily since launch usually reads somewhere in the mid-eighties. That is normal wear and it moves the number a little, not a lot. Below 80%, or once the Service Recommended message appears, we deduct the cost of putting a genuine battery in.
The rear glass is where this generation differs from every other iPhone we buy. Apple re-engineered the standard 14 and 14 Plus so the back panel comes off separately, which made rear-glass repair far cheaper. The Pro and Pro Max did not get that change, so a cracked back on a Pro is a much heavier job — a rare case where the cheaper phone takes the smaller deduction.
On the Pro models, check the rear camera glass as well. The 48MP main lens sits under a raised cover that chips against keys in a pocket, and hairline damage there shows in every photo.
