Which iPad Pro are you selling?

There are three screen sizes in circulation and they do not price alike. The 11 inch has run through every generation from the 2018 model to the current M4. The 12.9 inch covers the large Pro up to the M2 generation. The 13 inch replaced it on the M4 and is a different panel, not a rename, so tell us which one you have rather than rounding to "the big one".

Inside, the chip matters more than the size. An M4 Pro and an A12X Pro can look identical across a table and sit nowhere near each other on price. The M4 generation also introduced the tandem OLED display, which is the single largest jump in this line's value in years.

What actually moves the number on an iPad Pro

Chip and generation do the heavy lifting, then storage. The Pro line runs from 128GB up to 2TB depending on the year, and the top tiers are worth materially more than the entry one, so read the capacity line rather than estimating it.

Cellular is the one people forget. A Wi-Fi plus Cellular Pro carries an eSIM or a SIM tray and sells for more than the Wi-Fi only version of the same configuration, because it reaches a wider buyer. If you are not sure, look for the plastic antenna band along the top edge of the back.

Then condition, in the order it costs you: cracked front glass, then a dented or bent frame, then the back, then the screen itself. A bend along the long edge is the one to check for on the larger sizes, because it is common, hard to spot flat on a desk, and it changes what the unit can be resold as.

Battery and repair history close it out. A Pro whose screen or battery has been replaced outside Apple is still bought, and it is still worth quoting, but the number reflects what the next owner is actually getting.

Selling an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil or a keyboard

Accessories are valued as their own items rather than folded into the tablet price, and not everything adds to the figure. Tell us the exact model and we will tell you what it is worth before you bring it.

On the Pencil, the generation is what matters: the Pencil Pro and the USB-C Pencil are not interchangeable with the second-generation Pencil, and each pairs with a different set of iPads. A Pencil that no longer holds a charge or will not pair is worth saying so about upfront.

On keyboards, the Magic Keyboard is the one with real second-hand demand, and its value depends on the size it fits and whether the hinge and trackpad still work cleanly. Smart Folios and third-party cases rarely move the number, so bring them if you want them gone but do not count on them.

One honest note: a complete set sells faster than a bare tablet, which is why we would rather take the lot. That is not the same as promising every accessory raises the offer.

How to find your iPad Pro model and specification

Open Settings, then General, then About. That screen gives you the model name, the capacity, and the model number beginning with A. Screenshot it and send the screenshot. It is the fastest accurate answer and it removes every round of back-and-forth about which generation you have.

If the tablet will not switch on, the model number is also printed in small type on the back of the case. A clear photo of that is enough for us to place it.

One thing we do not need, and you should not post publicly anywhere: the serial number. Model and capacity are enough for a quote. The serial is checked at inspection, with you present.

Prepare your iPad Pro before you sell it

Back it up first, to iCloud or to a computer, and check the backup has actually finished before you go any further. Everything after this step erases the tablet.

Then sign out. Settings, your name, Sign Out, and confirm Find My is off. Then Settings, General, Transfer or Reset iPad, and run Erase All Content and Settings. An iPad Pro still locked to an Apple Account is the one thing that stops a sale outright, and it cannot be cleared at our counter or yours.

On a cellular model, remove the eSIM or take the physical SIM out. If you plan to move your line to a new device, do that first, because erasing the tablet with the eSIM still on it makes the transfer harder than it needs to be.

Wipe the glass and bring the charger if you still have it. Neither is required, and both help.
